Buyback FAQs:
What books does the Bookstore buy back?
- Books requested by professors for next semester
- Books that are current editions and in good condition
- Books that are complete, i.e., no pages torn out; no excessive writing, especially in workbooks; working CD intact, etc.
- Books that have resale value at other colleges

How much will I get for my new and used textbooks?
- 50% of the current new price when a book is needed for the next semester (sometimes this percentage drops, for example when a professor decides to use an old edition and the Bookstore is able to offer it to future students at a lower price)
- Many titles at Wheaton get reused, either in the next semester or in the same semester of the next school year. This is especially true in 100- and 200-level classes, though also in upper division classes as well.
- 10% to 30% of the current new price when our used book wholesaler determines that your book has resale value at colleges
in other parts of the country
- Sometimes the Bookstore does not buy back a textbook or can only offer a low price. In these cases, we will advise a student to the best of our ability on whether a book will be worth more in a subsequent semester.

When should I sell my Books?
- At the end of the semester during finals week-USUALLY THE BEST TIME!
- At the beginning of a semester, but before classes start
- Year round on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to noon. If you're strapped for cash or just want advice on the best time
to sell back your unwanted books, stop by the buyback window. Sometimes it's best to sell a book back before the end of the
semester if the book is about to come out in a new edition.
